Beginning our story telling

March 28, 2014 by khornby

Today in Grade 1 we discussed what stories need, inorder to make them interesting. We discussed characters, and interesting problem, and the setting. The Grade 1’s agreed that the setting is very important for stories. We had discussions about how the setting can be referred to as different things or displayed in different ways – the background, the set, a scene or the stage. We brainstormed lots of setting ideas – space, park, ocean, airport, city, castles, caves, jungles, farms, and so much more!! We created a setting using paper collage. Stay tuned to see what we are going to do with them!!
